Experienced Senior or Manager Level Tax Accountant/Auditor  (Full-time)


Duties and Responsibilities:


Primarily responsible for managing multiple auditing and accounting projects and client engagements simultaneously, and scheduling, staffing and coordinating engagement workflow. 


The Experienced Senior or Manager-Level Tax Accountant/Auditor should:


  • Possess strong technical knowledge so that a minimum amount of supervision is needed. Be able to handle complex assignments within the firm and present that work for review requiring minimal change

  • Exhibit ownership in projects for internal and external clients as demonstrated by sense of urgency to needs and requests and thoroughness, accuracy and efficiency in work product

  • Possess strong project management skills:  Manage engagements, making sure that quality work is performed, within budget and on time, while minimizing stress

  • Coach and develop others

  • Effectively supervise multiple engagements at one time.  This requires effective delegating, progress monitoring, teaching, and giving performance feedback

  • Have meaningful contact with clients.  Have a good understanding of the client’s complete situation.  Communicate effectively and gain the respect of the client

  • Participate in the firm’s business development activities by identifying leads for managers and partners to close and opportunities for expanded services

  • Become a go-to person within the firm for a certain area or market


Minimum Qualifications: 


  • 6+ years of Tax/Audit experience

  • Experience with tax preparation in a wide variety of entity types, as well as governmental and not-for-profit auditing experience

  • CPA or CPA-candidate preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting including application of general accounting theory

  • Strong leadership and proven supervisory skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with quotas and goals

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects and deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills



Staff Accountant  (Full-time)


Duties and Responsibilities:


Performs routine, detailed accounting and tax services, requiring  knowledge of journal entry preparation and general ledger maintenance.  Is usually performed under the direction of a senior or manager. Staff accountants range from new college graduates to those with 1-3 years of experience.


Typical engagement responsibilities:  Perform basic audit steps from a program, routine work in areas such as cash, receivables, payables, confirmations, testing of controls, simple 1040 returns, payroll tax returns.  As staff gain experience, they will get into more complex areas such as corporate returns, inventories, consolidations and planning the engagement.


The Staff Accountant should:

  • Develop basic technical knowledge.  (Heavy emphasis on learning on the job as the person works on one job after another)

  • Constantly ask questions and consult with senior engagement personnel when problems or confusion arise

  • Consistently work outside of “comfort zone”, asks for stretch assignments to develop and apply knowledge learned

  • Take ownership of personal career goals and seek out mentors, advisors and coaches within the firm to help achieve aspirations

  • Learn how to interact with clients properly. Treats colleagues and clients with respect and interact positively and professionally when representing the firm

  • Begins to participate in the firm’s marketing efforts by taking part in networking activities


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Basic knowledge of accounting

  • Bookkeeping and Payroll experience a plus

  • QuickBooks proficiency a plus



Bookkeeper  (Full-time)


Duties and Responsibilities


Accounting para-professional with experience in handling all phases of accounting through financial statement. 


The Bookkeeper will:  

  • Reconcile and maintain accounting records for clients in multiple industries on a regular basis ie: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, post journals – cash receipts, cash disbursed, general journal entries,  reconcile bank statements

  • Complete sales tax returns and payments (monthly, quarterly, annual) online

  • Complete annual Business Property Statements for clients

  • Review client’s accounting records and be able to quickly identify and correct any adjustments needed

  • Analyze and adjust client’s trial balance at year-end as needed for income tax preparation


Minimum Qualifications


  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and knowledge of payroll functions and ability to analyze a client’s general ledger for accuracy and adjust as necessary

  • Previous experience at CPA firm or as external accountant for many different types of entities a plus

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Payroll Service knowledge



Payroll Services Specialist  (Full-time)


Duties and Responsibilities


Performs Payroll service for 60+ clients. 


The Payroll Services Specialist will:

  • Prepare client payrolls, including tax deposits, garnishment payments, pension reports/payments, quarterly payroll tax returns, W2’s

  • Complete and send out corp auto forms to clients, then calculate their corp auto benefit amounts for W2’s

  • Prepare 1099’s at year end

  • Complete work comp reports online and on paper, including scheduling or making payments online for some clients

  • Enter client payroll expenses to tax program at year end and enter some Schedule C information to tax program

  • Take CE or review publications to stay abreast of labor law changes and wage requirement changes

  • Educate others in the firm about payroll laws and changes and function as a resources for payroll guidance to others within the firm


Minimum Qualifications


Requires expertise in:

  • Wage and hour laws

  • Timecard calculation

  • Taxable/non-taxable payroll items

  • Tax deposit requirements

  • Reporting/filing requirements up through W2 preparation

  • Previous work at a CPA firm or performing payroll services for employers in multiple industries preferred



Tax Administrative Assistant  (Full-time or Part-time)


Duties and Responsibilities


Perform a variety of general office responsibilities as well as assembly and e-filing of tax returns. 


The Tax Administrative Assistant will:

  • Assemble tax returns and financial statements, including:

    • Gathering signed 8879’s

    • e-filing and sending clients tax returns

    • Handling rejected returns, by determining the issue and problem solving to correct

    • Paper filing when necessary

  • Answer phones/take messages

  • Greet clients

  • Schedule client appointments

  • Scan documents

  • File

  • Order office supplies

  • Assist with Billing, A/R as needed


Minimum Qualifications


  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office a plus

  • Must be detail oriented and very organized

  • Possess great people/communication skills
