Kim Kessler, Small Business Manager
Kim has been with Aiello, Goodrich and Teuscher since its inception. She is the manager of the write up department. Her skills include, but are not limited to general accounting, payroll and financial statement preparation. Kim specializes in corporate tax preparation, which includes C-Corps and S-Corps.
Kim entered the accounting field as a fluke. A family friend needed an office assistant and during this employment, she met with his CPA, Hap Goodrich. Hap discovered Kim’s knack for forensic accounting, not to mention her overall knowledge for accounting, and offered her a job as his accounting assistant. When Kim joined with Hap, it was a five person office and was located on Chestnut Street. The one and only office computer was 2’x 3’ and the monitor was 4”x6”. The computer input person (now referred to as a tech) did all the computer entries for the office. From there, the firm has moved the office three more times and has seen a dozen employees come and go, to end up at the current status. During this transition, Kim received her A.A. from College of the Siskiyous, and her employment title went from accounting assistant to small business manager. She is known as the “queen bee” of the firm.
It was hard for Kim to narrow her favorite memory down to just one because everyone has gone through so much and grown so much together. Our company celebrates life together, which makes birthdays and anniversaries very special. Lynn starts off every birthday party with a booming “HURRAY,” and Dorian’s job is to start off the “happy birthday” song in order to keep us all in key (good luck)! There are lots of old timers here, so anniversary parties celebrating 20, 25 and 30 years are very memorable and entertaining. Other wonderful memories include river raft trips, patio boat excursions, mountain climbing adventures, ski trips, theatre shows and of course April 15th celebrations. With so many fond recollections, Kim accordingly has discovered that her favorite memory is that we celebrate life together as a family, not just coworkers.
Kim moved to the area as a child, and has been here ever since. She is married to Sam, has two grown children, Nic and Karla and one granddaughter, McKenzie. Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, hunting and fishing. Kim is especially excited to welcome the newest additions to the family: her daughter in law and granddaughter.
