My name is Alberta Ferguson and I grew up in the Redding, CA. area. I come from a family of 8 children four boys and four girls. I have a twin sister Roberta. Life was simple. The vast fields bore witness to our curiosity, and as kids, we often took to the expansive backyard for our adventures. As we had a small farm and raised farm animals and pretty much grew our own food. It demanded milking, caring for all the animals, horses, pigs, rabbits, chickens etc. My Dad used to joke with us about the reason he had so many children was to take care of our little farm. My siblings and I participated in the daily duties. We learned to be responsible and how to share.
Though for many days a week we would leave to attend school. Soon we found a rhythm between both our duties.
I quickly understood the importance of preparation, hard work, and respect. I applied these values to my endeavors by making an inventory of resources, planning my activities for efficiency, working on my goals every single day. My upbringing has completely supported my development and I am thankful for it.
I have been married for 52 years, to my husband Jack. We have three grown children, Sherry, David & Stephanie, four grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
I started working for Nystrom & Company May 1977, I have been through three merges, Matson & Isom, Kcoe Isom and now AGT. I am telling people that I come with the building, as I have been in the same building since I started working here. I am looking forward to working a few more years, as I really enjoy my job as receptionist. I also process tax returns, order supplies, and any other duties required. I also get to meet all our great clients and people who come in our office first.
