Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting para-professional with experience in handling all phases of accounting through financial statement for multiple clients.
In this position, you will:
Regularly reconcile and review client’s accounting records and be able to quickly identify and correct any adjustments needed
Maintain accounting records for clients in multiple industries on a regular basis i.e.: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, post journals – cash receipts, cash disbursed, general journal entries, reconcile bank statements
Complete sales tax returns and payments (monthly, quarterly, annual) online
Complete annual Business Property Statements for clients
Analyze and adjust client’s trial balance at year-end as needed for income tax preparation
Complete Informational forms 1099-Misc and 1099-NEC for clients.
Record and reconcile payroll to outside service provider reports
Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency in QuickBooks
Ability to analyze a client’s general ledger for accuracy and adjust as necessary
5+ years previous experience at a CPA firm or as external accountant for many different types of entities a plus
Excellent organizational skills
Full-time $30.00 - 45.00 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities
Entry-level to early-career accounting professional responsible for providing routine accounting, audit, and tax services for a variety of clients. This position is ideal for recent college graduates or professionals with 1 to 3 years of experience who are looking to develop their technical skills and grow within a CPA firm. Work is generally performed under the direction of a Senior Associate, Manager, or Partner.
In this position, you will:
Perform routine accounting and tax services, including journal entry preparation and general ledger maintenance
Develop technical accounting and tax knowledge through hands-on experience across a variety of client engagements
Perform basic audit procedures, including work related to cash, receivables, payables, confirmations, and testing of controls
Prepare individual income tax returns, payroll tax returns, and other routine tax filings
Progress into more complex assignments as experience grows, including corporate tax returns, inventories, consolidations, and engagement planning
Maintain clear, accurate, and organized workpapers and documentation
Communicate with senior engagement personnel when questions, challenges, or unfamiliar situations arise
Work outside of your comfort zone and take on new assignments that help expand your knowledge and technical abilities
Build positive, professional relationships with clients and colleagues while representing AGT CPAs and Advisors
Take ownership of professional development by establishing career goals and seeking guidance from mentors, advisors, and coaches within the firm
Participate in networking opportunities and other firm marketing and community activities

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
Proficiency with QuickBooks and a working knowledge of journal entry preparation and general ledger maintenance
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with accounting software and general ledger systems
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with close attention to detail

1 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or a similar work environment

Experienced accounting para-professional responsible for handling all phases of bookkeeping and accounting through financial statement preparation for clients across a variety of industries. This position requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to independently maintain accurate financial records while providing dependable service to clients.
In this position, you will:
Reconcile and maintain accounting records for clients in multiple industries
Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Post cash receipts, cash disbursements, and general journal entries
Reconcile bank statements and review client records for accuracy
Quickly identify and correct necessary accounting adjustments
Complete and submit sales tax returns and payments on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Complete annual Business Property Statements for clients
Analyze and adjust client trial balances at year-end as needed for income tax preparation
Assist with payroll-related accounting and maintain knowledge of payroll functions
Work directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and support their accounting needs
Participate in activities that support the management and day-to-day functions of the accounting team
Organize and prioritize multiple client accounts, projects, and deadlines
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Five or more years of office or bookkeeping experience
Proficiency in QuickBooks
Knowledge of payroll functions and payroll-related accounting
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and an exceptional level of accuracy
Demonstrated reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
Ability to analyze financial data and make informed, cost-effective decisions
Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience working directly with clients
Previous experience at a CPA firm or as an external accountant working with multiple types of entities is a plus
